Nothing
I'm not writing much because there is nothing to write about. Each day is like the next. I do a little house work, (very little) and I either lay on the couch or lie in bed. I've been hooked on the game Jewel Quest on my phone. I'm going to have to stop for a while because the combo of a 1 inch screen and my stigmatism is making me nauseous. At least I hope it's that and not the kidney problem adding insult to injury. Only time will tell.
Last Tuesday my brother Byron was in a motorcycle accident. He broke a leg, shoulder and pinky finger. All ribs are in tack but he is very beat up. George found out on Thursday and called all the sibblings. Evidently Dad was told on Tuesday, but didn't think to tell anybody. I've missed my mother a lot this month, but when things happen like this, it makes me remember how she made sure information got to all of us.
Merry Christmas
We had a great Christmas. We went to visit the kids in Las Vegas. Thanks guys for putting up with family antics. I got to spend lots of time with Richie. He is a great little boy. He is learning to walk all over the house and he has a great little personality. He holds entire conversations with the fish tank and bawls you out in jibberish if you are not paying attention to him. It was a lot of fun. On Monday, Cassie made a terrific dinner that made us let out our belts a little.
Life
Nothing to report. Had another CT scan and it showed that the ureter was better than before the stent. Dr. said " I don't know why you are still having pain"
His receptionist made a call to University Hospital in Salt Lake City for a consult on kidney reconstruction. They said the soonest I could get in was FEBRUARY 15th! I said ".........." Well, you probably know what I said. Then I said "That won't work". They are also calling the Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
can't sleep
Woke at 3a and it is 4:00 and I'm still awake. My kidney is aching and It's hard not to focus on it. I know Rich is tired of my negative attitude toward life right now, but I'm finding it hard to be possitive through the pain. Physically I'm a mess. Emotionally I'm a wreck and Financially we're sunk. LIFE IS SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD.
On an up beat: The Ukelele Ladies did 3 Christmas programs on Monday. Three different places. Picked up at 9:45a and then programs at 10:15a, 11a and 11:45a. Home by 12:15p. I was tired, but glad I could do it.
Harry Potter
Got to see Harry Potter #4 movie tonight. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Best yet. Good flick. Didn't miss the Durseley's a bit. Missed Dobby though. Oh well. Harry didn't get his winnings at the end and give them to the twins. Guess that's part of writing them out of the next movie.
Stent, Shment
Well, I was pain free for a day. woo hoo. I was less than 1 hour into my shift at FHC today and, BAMMMM. Alvin and Quincey. (Against my better judgement, Rich has named the kidney pain). I took a pain pill (which took the edge off after an hour) and gritted my teeth and kept going. I came home at 12p and slept 'till 4!
"But I'm MUCH better NOW" Line from T.V. show "Night Court"
Rich has a cold. He's sleeping it off. He has a temp job. It was Tues. - Mon., He missed today. He should be back on Monday. It's just the 5 days. It's working at the newspaper. Only $7.00 per hour, but we are happy to have the money.
The Stent is Out!
Went to the doctor's today. The Stent is Out! Yayyyyyyyyyy! Evidently I've been spelling it wrong. It's "stent" and not "stynt". Anyway it's out. I am pretty much without pain below the shoulders, now if I could get rid of a monster headache.
All's Well
Everything went great with Grace. She fell asleep just before 10p and woke up about 10a. I didn't sleep very well though. I was sleeping on a footon and it was as hard as a rock. After 2 hours I pulled the cushions off the short sofa and packed blankets around the side so I wouldn't fall off. It must have been a sight to see. Every time I wanted to turn over I had to take all the blankets and switch them to the other side. Needless to say I got about 4 hours sleep.
My friend had a little boy. I think his name is Joshua Steven Lamont. 7 lbs. 6 oz., 21 inches long and has lots of brown hair. Mom and baby are doing fine.
Baby sitter to the rescue
At 8:30p I got the call to go to my friend Jenn's house. She wants me there at 9:30p so I got to make this quick. She is about to have a baby boy. Her water has already broken. She has a 2 year old girl named Grace. They wanted to put her to bed with the normal routine before they left. I will be with her 'till about 12:15p. Then another friend will pick her up and take her to their house.
Gotta go.
Lip Synk
Last night was our Ward Christmas Party. We had a nice ham dinner. I was in charge of the entertainment. We had a lip synk bash. Rich was the M. C. We ended up with 5 groups and one group did 2 songs. It lasted about 40 minutes maybe. Not sure. No buddy looked bored in the audience so that is always a good sign. I was the last song. Rollo and I did "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" (The verse that starts the song talks about Tommy talking to his teddy bear) It turned out cute. Rich sang the first 2 lines before it gets into the chorus and then he was done.
I got all eight of my Christmas __________________ done. I'll mail Jackie's to her, take 2 with me to Vegas and send 5 to Bakersfield and Dad ...... Maybe better be George to distribute.
This summer President Hinckley asked all members to read the Book of Mormon by the end of the year. I finished last night. I'm happy that I got it done. I feel good that I did something that I was asked to do without too much procrastination. Okay, I waited two months before I even started so I had to do a lot of 4 chapters a night, but it was worth it.
