Woo Hoo! Cable internet!
Ding Dong Dial Up Is Dead!
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Our Thanksgiving Feast
The kids arrived at 2am on Tuesday. Yep. AM. They left Las Vegas after Cassie got home from School. They slept on the blow-up bed and couch in the front room.
Rich and I got up at 7:30am and made the dressing and then stuffed the bird. Stuck it in the oven and went back to bed.
I had a doctors appointment at 11:30am. He more or less told me that being in a whole lot of pain and being uncomfortable is normal for having a kidney synt. I have an appointment to have the stynt removed next Tuesday afternoon.
We returned home and finished fixing dinner and then sat down to a very good meal. I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Even Richie who ate a lot of turkey.
Richie got to open his birthday presents from us. He got a white onesie with a red tie embroidered on it and a Tumbling Tigger.
The kids helped me get out the Christmas decorations from under the house which was a great big help. Rich won't go into the "hole" and I can't go climbing up and down ladders and crawling under the house right now. Richard was very brave. I think they left around 4:30p. I took a nap and woke about 6:30.
I am soooo glad they came. It was one of the most stress-free family dinners I believe we have had in a long time. Richie is walking and that is so fun to see. Most of the time he had a smile on his face and seemed very happy. I know that he has been sick and so I am sure his parents are glad he is in better moods these days.
Joe and Richard tried to take a look at my paper weight of a truck, but it didn't want to turn over. Guess we'll just have to have it towed to a garage and have it checked out. Hope it's fixable.
Guess that's it.
Hey
Hello. I've been in a lot of pain lately. My doctor is on vacation for another week. I am seeing his assistant tomorrow at 11:30am. I didn't go to Ukelele Ladies today and I'm not going to work at FHC tomorrow.
The kids are coming tomorrow for Thanksgiving dinner. (I hope R4 is feeling good enough to go, since he has strep. Yucky.) (Hope he hasn't given it to anyone else in the family or Dad and I will be having turkey for several days.)
Dad still does not have a job. He is looking in St. George again. Maybe we will have some luck soon.
The ethernet card arrived this morning so hopefully Dad will get it in the 'puter today and the cable guy can get us up and running tomorrow.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Turkey Day to friends and family. (all 3 of you)
Looking forward to having the kids for dinner on Tuesday. 2p.
Don't have cable internet yet 'cuz 3 months ago we had a storm that fried the ethernet card and we didn't know it until the cable guy came today. When it didn't work 3 months ago we switched 'cuz we couldn't afford it at the time anyway and it was the right time to change. We should be up and running in about a week.
I got to talk to Richard 2 days ago and Joseph last night. I sure love you guys.
I also talked to Dad and Phyllis yesterday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PHYLLIS! Hope Dad took you to some place nice for dinner.
Man! I hurt tonight. This is the pits.
Life ...
Life continues on day by day. Not much to report. I'm slowly getting stronger. It is still kind of hard to walk. I don't know if it has to do with the stynt or the pain. The stynt stays in for 3 weeks. Yuck. The kidney Finally doesn't spasm AS much as it did without the stynt, but it still lets me know that it is not functioning like a normal person's... okay, so I'm not normal. That has been well documented, but I can dream can't I!
Good news: We are getting our cable internet back tomorrow. Yahhhhh! No more snail dial up.
Also I got a new cell phone. T-mobil . The number is : 435-327-1079
Richard, I need pictures of Richie. I'm grandson deficient!
Hello World
Yep, I'm still here.
Life continues, upward and and upward. Surgery went off without a hitch. I was still groggy when the Doctor came in afterwards, but I don't think he was too sure that what he did will work. I guess we will just have to wait and see. I was home by 3:30p.
I'm not in a lot of pain, but it is hard to tell since Alvin remains active and makes me uncomfortable.
I am soooo sorry that we couldn't go to R5's birthday party. His present is wrapped and ready for him as soon as we see him. HAPPY BIRTHDAY my grandson. I sure miss you and hope you are feeling better. I know cutting teeth isn't very fun. (especially for your parents, since you won't remember it) I guess we could have been cranky together but I prefer to moan and groan in my own bed.
Happy Birthday R5!
Hey my little buddy, Hope you have a very Happy birthday.
RICHIE IS 1 TODAY!
Surgery 11/17/05
Dear Family,
On Thursday, 11/17/05 I am going in to have a kidney stynt put in. My kidney is backing up and they think it is due to scar tissue from the 1999 kidney surgery.
This is same day surgery and is not supposed to be difficult. I only found out yesterday (Tuesday) that surgery would have to be on Thursday or else I would have to wait at least 2 weeks before the doctor would be back in town.
I am hoping to be home and recovering by 5p (MST).
Thanks for your prayers on my behalf.
Love, Non
Life continues to SUCK. Part True
Hello Blogger Land:
Saturday went to Stake Conference. Felt really good about going. On Sunday went to Stake Conference. It was the first time we had the new format of having a Satalite broadcast from Salt Lake City to the stakes in Southern and Eastern Utah. Every other year we will have a broadcast for Stake Conference. Some really nice talks and a great spirit was felt.
Monday went to Ukelele Ladies and we gave a small performance to the folks at Emerald Point. The long term care facility that we practice at each week. Today was kind of busy. I went to FHC from 9a-12p. Then dashed in a near-by class room and changed into my outfit for Ukelele Ladies. Jumped into Ethel's car and drove to the Senior Center. Walked in with 5 minutes to spare only to find out that they started 8 minutes early. We grabbed our ukes and jumped up on stage and started playing with the rest of the ladies. It was fun. This crowd was a little rude at first cuz they continued to talk during our first couple of numbers, but eventually they started to sing along with us. We didn't stay for lunch like I thought we were going to. Oh well. Came home and figured I had a couple of hours before my 3:30p Urologist appointment, but they called and said that they had a couple of cancelations and would I come in now. So I got there about 2p. When I finally got in about 2:45p (hurry up and wait don't ya know) I was informed that the doctor wanted to do a CT-Scan TODAY, see me again tomorrow and then do SURGERY on Thursday. If all goes well it will be same day (in and out) surgery and I should still be able to go to Las Vegas on Friday for Lil' Richie's B-day party on Saturday.
Now there are 2 bulldozers dumping that emotional earth on top of me. (see 11/05/05 post)
Ruth gave us our Christmas money early but because we needed to open a new account at a different bank, we don't have access to the moola until Friday afternoon.
Our Bishop okayed us to get a weeks worth of food from the Storehouse, so I don't have to have tuna helper for lunch this week. Not that that was a bad thing.
Okie-doke. That's my life in a nut house.......shell.
Life continues.....to SUCK
Hello world (all 3 of you)
Nasty the head-ache has been with me all day. So not much to report. Rich had an interview yesterday. Don't know anything yet.
My doctor's appointment with my Urologist is on Tuesday at 3p. Till then I'm supposed to chagrin and bear it.
I got to play for a program for the first time in Ukelele Ladies. It went all right. One of the neat things is that at some of these programs they feed you. yaahhhhh. Good slop. Lots of casseroles. My favorite. And then apple pie. ummmmm. We are doing a small program for the place where we usually practice on Monday. (no food) But on Tuesday afternoon we play for the senior citizen center (food).
I am so looking forward to visiting the kids and being to Richie's 1st birthday party on November 19th. (turns 1 on 18th.)
Bad news: NOT going to California for Christmas like we have been planning since March. Oh well. Maybe some of them will come my way in the future. Almost as good. Maybe we can go to Vegas. Not sure. Depends on how many kinks life throws at us between now and then. Gotta go Ice my head.
Live long and....cause your children head-aches
Life Sucks!
Life sucks and I don't see it getting any better anytime soon. I got a call tonight from the stage manager of the play we tried out for. They "truly enjoyed you and your husband's audition, but we do not have a place for either one of you in our play". "Please do not let this discourage you from auditioning with us in the future" Great. It was one of my best auditions in years. And it wasn't good enough.
No money. Nothing to look forward to and life delt me another blow with my health yesterday. The doctor got my results back from my Ulta sound......... The reason my kidney hurts is because it's blocked. Means I will probably have to at least have a temporary stynt put in. CRAP.........."On a stick"
I'm in a huge emotional hole and dirt is being thrown in with a bulldozer.
Doctor's are stupid
Went to my doctor on Friday. He's a good doctor and he really listens to me. It's just that my body completely stupefies him. (all my doctors actually) I'm still having these headaches which are still a bear. And the last couple of months I'm having a squeezing pain where my kidney scar is. So I was sent to have blood work which came back NORMAL. And then I had an Ultrasound on Tuesday. Don't know if that revealed anything.
Auditioned for a play on Tuesday evening. "A Christmas Carol Radio Show" It's exactly what it sounds like. It's a play done as a radio show with mikes and sound effects. Then I think they actually record it once and play it on the radio on Christmas Eve. Rich and I both got called back on Wednesday. It looks like we might both be in it! That would be great. It's being done by the same people that put on the Shakespeare Festival so we would love to get a foot in with that company. Plus the part of Scrooge has been precast and it is the Founder of the Festival, Fred Adams. He's a fun person to meet and I would love to get a chance to work with him. He rarely acts anymore so I'd be excited to be a part of this production. Let alone I haven't acted in 3 years. For me that's a real drought. Wish us luck.
Rich is snoring, something he hasn't done since we got rid of the water bed at least 5 years ago. I can't sleep and my head is killing me. Supposed to exercise with Jenn in the morning (7a) better see if I can at least rest some more.
