Health Update
This letter was sent out to family and friends today. It explains the situation pretty well so I'm just going to copy it to my blog and call it good.
Dear family and friends,
On Monday September 25 I went to Dr. Michael Kline. He is a lung specialist in St. George. He was very thourough and extremely knowledgeable. My diagnosis, Pulmonary Artery Hypertention (PAH) is pretty advanced. Tests showed that I had mild sleep apnea (which can cause PAH) but not enough to have caused the amount of damage to my arteries. He interviewed me and came to the conclusion that the 5 years I was on heavy narcotics for chronic abdominal pain would have been plenty of time to hide and enhance sleep apnea and cause the PAH. I took myself off the heavy meds 2 years ago which made the sleep apnea decrease.
I am being put on a medicine "Tracleer" it is supposed to relieve some of the presure the arteries are under. As of Wednesday September 27th, I am on liquid oxegen whenever I move about. Next week there will be another sleep study (in St George) and they will probably put me on a C-pap machine at night. If the St George Sleep Study shows a large amount of SIPH (Sleep Interruptions Per Hour) my diagnosis will likely change to SPAH (Secondary Pulmonary Artery Hypertention.) If not, my diagnosis will become PPAH (Primary Pulmonary Artery Hypertention.) A PPAH diagnosis may necessitate a move to a lower altitutde (Greeley was 4664 feet, Cedar City is 5844 feet) which probably means back to Bakersfield (408 feet.) We have time to see if the liquid oxygen and the Tracleer are effective enough without the need to move.
All of these things are to help relieve the pressure to my lungs and heart so that I can breath easier. I have quit my "Dwight" job and also the Fall season of the Utah Shakespearean Festival. Hoping to go back to "Dwight" if I can get more mobility back.
As always I feel and aprieciate your thoughts and prayers on my behalf. My attitude and outlook are possitive. I will try to keep you updated on my health.
With all my love, Nondus
Guess that says it all.

Also know that someone else is having a b-day on Thursday. If he's gonna be 25 that makes me........OLD.
Oh well. If it's gotta be, it's gotta be.

Still playing the Waiting game
Haven't heard from the sleep doctor. Still waiting for my appointment with Lung specialist. After all this waiting I sure hope I get some answers and some action. Some days feel really good. Walking around the house nice and slow I don't feel as winded. But other days when I am out and about and........living, I go up 3 steps and I almost faint. I hold up lots of walls on days like that. Today is one of those wall holding days. I am so bored. I want to go do something. But unless it can be done at a snails pace forget it.
aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhh.

Relief is in site
I have sleep apnea. No big deal. It can easily be fixed with a mask I wear at night. As far as I know treating the sleep apnea will relieve some of the hypertension. Then slowly, depending on how bad the constriction is in my arteries, I will be able to fight the fatigue and WIN. A Sleep doctor will call me and explain what's needed for the sleep apnea in about a month. My appointment with the Lung specialist is on September 26th. In the mean time I go about my business. Like I need another condition, but the alternative is not a pretty picture.
A couple of sisters have brought in dinner to me. They don't want me to "over-do it"..............Too late. Just getting up is "over-doing it". I told Rich "Never in my whole life have so many men offered me there arm to walk or opened doors for me" I kind of like it.
What I don't like is 60 plus year-olds passing me like I'm standing still. Or women who are more than 100 pounds heavier than I and as they walk by huffing and puffing look at me, huffing and puffing and say "This heat really can get to you huh?"
On another note....LAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Terrance and Marilyn came to visit. They went to the Timpanogas Story Telling Festival near Orem. They came by on their way there on August 28th. We went to the Green Show at the Utah Shakespearean Festival and then to dinner at I Hop. Then on their way back home they stopped on September 3rd. Rich cooked dinner while I was at choir and we had baked chicken and potatoes and gravy. We sat and talked for several hours then they stayed at Super 8 Hotel and headed home to Sanger on Monday.

Sleepy Time?
Tonight I go to the sleep clinic. They attach a lot of sensors on me like an EKG and I go to sleep. Wake up totally unrested and the results go to my doctor. We shall see.
